People and language in Britain

Hello, everyone!! Today is I talk about where the British came from, what language they are speaking and where people meet and have conversation. I would be very happy if you would read this for me!!🥴

People come from….?

Do you know that there are people from all over the UK?I don’t know… Look at this graph.

This research was from 2011 and the current population is likely to be increasing. The total population of the UK is about 63 million. As you can see from the graph, the population of White or White British. The next most population is Asian or Asian British. I was surprised that there were surprisingly many Asian or Asian British. When we think of Asian, we think of China, Japan, Korea, but there is a wide variety of Asian. There are 35,043 Japanese national characters in England and Wales, 1,273 in Scotland, and 90 in Northern Ireland.

Various language in the UK

Next, I will talk to language in the UK. In the UK, English is basically spoken, but six other languages are also spoken. There are Welsh, Scottish, Scotland Gealic, Manx and Cornish. In Japan, Manx and Cornish are not well known.

🇬🇧 English 🇬🇧

English is spoken in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It seems that English is often spoken first. In the olden days, it was the predominant language in Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Today, all native British people use English.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Scottish is spoken in East Scotland and Northern Ireland. Scottish is often thought to be similar to modern English, but difd. Also, known as the English dialect, is another language.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Welsh is the only language used in the UK as an official language other than English. Welsh is a European language that is still spoken today.

Scotland Gealic

Scotland Gealic is different from Scottish. Scotland Gealic is gradually declining as Scottish has become the Predominant language in Scotland.

🇮🇲 Manx 🇮🇲

There are two dialects in Manx, northern and southern. Manx is said to be after death, but since it is a language that is being revived recently, people are trying to teach Manx by volunteering.

Cornish

Cornish , like Manx, is one of the languages that has been resurrected after death. Cornish is a language close to Welsh. Many people are still trying to maintain and learn Cornish.

People meet and have communication

Pub🥂

Pub is the place in the UK where people can have a lively conversation and get know each other. Pub is British culture. Pub is an abbreviation for a public house, which is called a public house and is used as a social gathering place for people. But different from Japanese izakaya. Because in pub, the customer service isn’t too formal and we don’t have to worry about the dress coat. It is used by many office workers and students on their way home from work. An environment where we can talk freely is one of the attractions that attracts many people to pub.

Meetup👭🏼

Meetup is an SNS medium where people with similar hobbies and interests form a group and invite participants to interact with each other. SNS is used to easily send and share information from smartphones, but Meetup takes another step from there, such as actually meeting and enjoying hobbies together, interacting, or deepening friendships. By moving to, communication ability will also improve. Meetup is used by a wider age group in the UK.

Whatsapp💬

Whatsapp is message app. Whatsapp is a secure and reliable messaging tool. In the UK, Facebook and Whatsapp are used more than Instagram and Twitter. However, more and more people are using whatsapp these days. It’s similar to LINE in Japan. Whatsapp is a must if you live in the UK. It is also very convenient if you are studying abroad or traveling to the UK. Recently, it has been used not only in the UK but also in the world, so it is expected that it will continue to spread.

I think it is good to use these three positively because they not only deepen interaction with people but also improve language.

Thankyou for reading~!!
