Encounter with people and Drinking liquor 🍻

Hello, This week we’ll talk about meeting people, where people go for the best bars and drinks in Britain, and how they differ from Japanese bars. I’m not familiar with alcohol. However I will investigate in detail. Enjoy reading until the end!!

Community

First, the place to meet people in Britain is the community. I don’t think people have heard much about it in Japan, but the image is like a club for adults as opposed to for university students. I haven’t heard much. Meet people with the same hobbies and interested people at cafe and enjoy interacting with each other. In fact, a number of communites have been created through a site called Meetup. In order to meet, I think it is important to deepen positivness and exchange.

Next, I would like to introduce….

🍻 British liquor 🍻

The most popular liquor is…

👑 Gin

The most famous liquor in Britain is gin. Gin was made in 1689. The world’s production areas for gin are the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Germany. But the most famous is the dry gin in the United Kingdom. The taste of gin is refreshing, but it has a unique aroma such as Juniper berries. Besides juniper, flavours such as lemon and orange peel are also added. I want to drink it.

🌟Scotch Whiskey

The second is Scotch whiskey. Scotch whiskey is one of the five largest whiskeys in the world and was made in Scotland. With different characteristics from country to country, Scotch is characterized by a smoky scent like smoke.🚬

💫Rum

Third is Rum. There are various types of rum, and each type has different taste and aroma. Rum is liquor made by the Scotch method, which is a blend of both malt and grain whiskey. It has a sweeter taste than Scotch whiskey. Basically, it has a scent that is a mixture of bitter and sweet tastes like charred caramel.

Where do the British people go to bar??

The best bar is……??

🍻Pub 🍻

The place to drink in Britain is the pub. Pub is said to have evolved from public house and were called public house until around the 18th century. Pub is a facility that was used as a meeting place for people, a social gathering place, and sometimes a place for weeding ceremonies. Compared to bar, pub have softer and more discreet music, and customers spend more time in the pub. There are also many types of beer, as well as drinks such as wine and cider. There are differences between British and Japanese bar. Izakaya is the most common place to drink alcohol in Japan. ・Drink alcohol outside ・Pay for each order ・The pub is open fpom the morning ・There are few food menus ・There is a cider alongside beer There are differences from Japan.!

In turned out that the liquor to drink is different dependent on the world, and the characteristics of the bar to drink are also different. I actually want to go to a bar in Britain once.

Thankyou for reading~!!😙 See you next week~!

Britain and Japanese houses

Hello, It’s been getting cold all at once recently. To days, I would like to talk about the difference between Japanese and Britain houses. Do you know the difference? I didn’t know much until I looked up the information. Let’s make six differences. So please enjoy reading until the end.

1. Difference lifespan

There is a difference in the lifespan of a house between Japan and Britain. The average lifespan of a Japanese house is about 30 years, and the average lifespan of an Britain house is said to be about 70 years or more. Comparing the lifespans of Japan and Britain, the lifespan of Japanese houses is overwhelmingly short. However, although their lifespan is short, some houses can actually live for more than 30 years. This is thought to be due to the difference in materials used when building a house. There is also a reason for the long lifespan of house in Britain. I think it is due to the way of thinking about housing and the durability of the house.

2. Difference in house structure

There are basically three of housing structures in Japan. There are wooden structures, steel structures, and reinforced concrete. Mostly made of wood. Wooden houses are said to be less durable than concrete, but modern houses are more durable. This is because Japan has more disasters than other countries and has a structure that is less susceptible to disasters such as earthquakes , and not only the structure of the house but also the martials are evolving. The structure of an Britain house is stone. Many of the stone buildings are made of brick. Before it became stone, it was the same wooden structure as in Japan. It was transformed into a stone structure after a big fire in London. Compared to wooden structures, it has patience and the house is less likely to break. Therefore, I thought that the life of the house was long in Britain.

3. Apartment house or Detached house

Japanese houses generally live in detached houses, Apartment house. But in Britain, there are many two-storied houses and row houses, so they do not often live in high-rise houses such as apartment house. In Japan, luxury houses are high-rise tenement houses in Britain. In Japan, even if you build a condominium, we often destroy the building on new land and build a new condominium, so I think the life of the house is short. In comparison, Britain tries to live for a long time without building condominiums and remodeling the house, so I think that the house can be kept clean and the life span will be extended.

4. Difference in floor plan

In Japan, there is a tokonoma, the floor is made of tatami, and the fioor plan is changed until the fusuma. The alcove is so distinctive that it can be said that most Japanese houses are located. Tatami that is made to create a calm atmosphere in the room. I also I think that the fact that the bran is the house is a characteristics of Japanese houses. On the other hand, the floor plan in Britain has a basic form, and there is a front yard in front of the entrance. There is also a fireplace in the living room. This is a British tradition. As we can see, Japan and Britain are completely different.

5. Thoughts on the house

The idea of Japanese house is that, as I said in No.1 the lifespan of Japanese house is as short as about 30 years. Therefore, Japan often remodels house in about 30 years. There is an idea to rebuild it instead of handing it over to a daughter or son. Britain house have the idea of caring for a house and trying to live longer, passing on the long-lived house to children and grandchildren, and caring for the house and trying to keep it longer. The idea is to pass on the long-lived house to children and grandchildren so that they can continue to live. By doing so, there is an idea that children and grandchildren can live a rich life without being tied to a mortage.

6. Difference in house design

Japanese houses designs are generally divided into two parts. A Japanese-style house and a Western-style house. Japanese-style house is often designed in old houses. Western-style is a modern design. Recently, few houses are building Japanese style houses. Japanese-style houses have a dark image, while Western-style houses have a bright image based on white. The design of Britain house is a typical Tudor style. The design of the brick outer wall and chimney. As a place for the general public to live, there are many houses in the style called half-timbered. The characteristic appearance is that structural materials such as columns, beams, and braces are exposed to the outside. It is a style that is often used in France and Germany as well as Britain and each has a difference design. Britain is a unique design that includes curves and diagonal lines.

So, there are still differences between Japan and Britain houses. I will take this opportunity to investigate further. Thank you for reading~!!🖤

People and language in Britain

Hello, everyone!! Today is I talk about where the British came from, what language they are speaking and where people meet and have conversation. I would be very happy if you would read this for me!!🥴

People come from….?

Do you know that there are people from all over the UK?I don’t know… Look at this graph.

This research was from 2011 and the current population is likely to be increasing. The total population of the UK is about 63 million. As you can see from the graph, the population of White or White British. The next most population is Asian or Asian British. I was surprised that there were surprisingly many Asian or Asian British. When we think of Asian, we think of China, Japan, Korea, but there is a wide variety of Asian. There are 35,043 Japanese national characters in England and Wales, 1,273 in Scotland, and 90 in Northern Ireland.

Various language in the UK

Next, I will talk to language in the UK. In the UK, English is basically spoken, but six other languages are also spoken. There are Welsh, Scottish, Scotland Gealic, Manx and Cornish. In Japan, Manx and Cornish are not well known.

🇬🇧 English 🇬🇧

English is spoken in England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It seems that English is often spoken first. In the olden days, it was the predominant language in Scotland, Ireland and Wales. Today, all native British people use English.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Scottish is spoken in East Scotland and Northern Ireland. Scottish is often thought to be similar to modern English, but difd. Also, known as the English dialect, is another language.

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Welsh 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Welsh is the only language used in the UK as an official language other than English. Welsh is a European language that is still spoken today.

Scotland Gealic

Scotland Gealic is different from Scottish. Scotland Gealic is gradually declining as Scottish has become the Predominant language in Scotland.

🇮🇲 Manx 🇮🇲

There are two dialects in Manx, northern and southern. Manx is said to be after death, but since it is a language that is being revived recently, people are trying to teach Manx by volunteering.

Cornish

Cornish , like Manx, is one of the languages that has been resurrected after death. Cornish is a language close to Welsh. Many people are still trying to maintain and learn Cornish.

People meet and have communication

Pub🥂

Pub is the place in the UK where people can have a lively conversation and get know each other. Pub is British culture. Pub is an abbreviation for a public house, which is called a public house and is used as a social gathering place for people. But different from Japanese izakaya. Because in pub, the customer service isn’t too formal and we don’t have to worry about the dress coat. It is used by many office workers and students on their way home from work. An environment where we can talk freely is one of the attractions that attracts many people to pub.

Meetup👭🏼

Meetup is an SNS medium where people with similar hobbies and interests form a group and invite participants to interact with each other. SNS is used to easily send and share information from smartphones, but Meetup takes another step from there, such as actually meeting and enjoying hobbies together, interacting, or deepening friendships. By moving to, communication ability will also improve. Meetup is used by a wider age group in the UK.

Whatsapp💬

Whatsapp is message app. Whatsapp is a secure and reliable messaging tool. In the UK, Facebook and Whatsapp are used more than Instagram and Twitter. However, more and more people are using whatsapp these days. It’s similar to LINE in Japan. Whatsapp is a must if you live in the UK. It is also very convenient if you are studying abroad or traveling to the UK. Recently, it has been used not only in the UK but also in the world, so it is expected that it will continue to spread.

I think it is good to use these three positively because they not only deepen interaction with people but also improve language.

💫🌟Great City🌟💫

Hello…!!🥴 In this week’s blog , I would like to talk about the in sights, sounds, smells difference between Britain and Japan.
Enjoy reading until the end.!!

Cityscape in Britain

The characteristic of the streets of Britain is that there are still many old streets in the world. Even in the capital, London, it is easy to find 16th-century buildings and 18th-century buildings in each region, even as urban development progresses. Britain has a habit of valuing old things, and does not often redevelop old buildings like Japan to replace them with new ones. The absence of an earthquake is another reason why many old buildings remain. There are some areas in London where urban development is progressing, but basically there is a law that determines the height of buildings and the color of outer walls by the Landscape Act, and the British values themselves prefer old houses. Because they are an Englishman who has the value of cleaning and cleaning old houses, repairing them with my own hands if they break, and becoming more attached to them as they use them for a long time, the pretty streets and old buildings are still beautiful. Remaining. Furthermore, it is a complex style including the Georgian style of the 18th century, and there are many buildings with a profound feeling such as brown like bricks and mess.
As an image, it is a building with a world view like Harry Potter and Sherlock Holmes, and many Victorian style buildings remain. Unlike the Ottoman style of Paris, it is also a characteristic of the English streets that there are few decorations and many functional buildings.

Cityscape in Japan

The characteristic of Japanese cities is that the townhouses in Kyoto, Nara, Kanazawa, etc. feel very old-fashioned. The row of wooden buildings with tiled roofs is a landscape of a traditional Japanese city that has been around since the Heian period. Old streets nationwide, such as Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, where houses with thick clay walls and tiled roofs with a profound feeling are lined up, and Semboku City, Akita Prefecture, where the samurai residences where samurai once lived are gathered. The landscape is protected as a conservation area. Old-fashioned scenery still remains in downtown, the old town of the common people represented by Asakusa and Katsushika Ward in Tokyo.

London Bus

The British bus is a red two-story bus.
The name is London Bus and it is characteristically red.
Of course, it is left open while driving and in winter, and instead, the conductor is on board separately from the driver to protect safety.
The first floor of the bus can seat about 30 people, and the second floor can seat about 40 people.
The view from the second floor is a bit different and people can enjoy a new side of London. It’s a little high, so people can see tall buildings such as Big Ben and Westminster Abbey from the bus.
People can also enjoy the bus by taking the London Bus to famous buildings and sightseeing spots in England.

Japanese bus

Japanese buses include large cars, medium-sized cars, and small cars. Also, unlike England, it is a one-story building and the number of people who can ride it is small. There are various types of buses, which vary from region to region. There are pictures, different colors, and patterns. In addition, there are separate sightseeing buses and school buses. The sightseeing bus is a large car and the school bus is a medium-sized car. Recently, the number of buses that are barrier-free and use small vehicles is increasing.

House in Britain

British houses have different architectural structures.
It is called a double brick, and the length of the two longest sides of the brick size connected together is the “wall thickness”.
Brick is a material with excellent heat insulation performance, and it has long-lasting durability and weather resistance unless there is an earthquake.
For this reason, the cityscape is old and the landscape is protected by national and local ordinances.
Households are especially interesting because they depend on the history, culture and traditions of the country.

House in Japan

Japanese houses are small in both urban and rural areas and are generally close to their neighbors. Nevertheless, the traditional design of Japanese homes, regardless of size or location, has common contrivances such as protecting privacy, taking in natural light, protecting the home from the elements and feeling the outside air.
Buying a family-friendly single-family home is not an easy task for people living in Japanese cities, but even in apartments, it’s usually a traditional home, such as a bathtub or a stepped entrance. You can see the features. In addition, many Western-style houses have Japanese-style rooms with tatami mats. The elements of traditional Japanese houses have been a source of inspiration for Western architects for many years and are characteristically old-fashioned.

In conclusion, there are many differences between Britain and Japan in many ways. I wanted to see the difference with my own eyes because I wanted to know more about the difference.

Thankyou for reading..!!😙❤️‍🔥 Good bye~👋🏻

🇬🇧Trip to Britain🇬🇧

Hello, I’m Kotomi Hikita. This survey is about a trip to Britain.

I have traveled abroad, but never to Britain. It is thought that the amount of luggage and the items required to carry are different between domestic travel and overseas travel, First of all, a passport is a most for traveling. Without a passport, I can’t enter the boarding gate and I can’t board an airplane. Also, a credit card will be required. When traveling to the UK, it’s becoming almost common sense that passports and credit cards are the two most essential items. Why do I need a credit card? It can keep fees much lower than converting Japanese money into the British currency, the pound sterling.
In addition, since the amount of cash on hand is reduced, the damage caused by theft can be suppressed. And if i have a credit card, if something happens, I can pay by leaving cash. In addition, some things can only be bought in the UK while traveling, so I can spend a lot of money. If I bring my credit card to my trip to the UK, I can consider the balance and the rest of your itinerary, and if you run out of money, I can use my credit card to make adjustments. But I have to be careful not to be stolen.
Some credit cards cannot be used overseas, so it is necessary to check in advance whether they can be used. It’s common sense to bring a credit card, so if I don’t usually carry it with me, I’ll need to have one in my wallet.

The next thing I need is pocket WiFi. By carrying Pocket WiFi, I can move while looking at the map on my smartphone, or I can do research. In addition, I can upload photos to SNS such as Instagram and Twitter. If I don’t bring my pocket WiFi, I’ll have to bring it with I because it’s convenient, although it’s a baggage because I’ll be charged a tremendous amount of billing charges compared to when mine’s in Japan.

Third, there is overseas travel insurance. I will need something in the UK that I don’t need for domestic travel. If I go on a trip to England, I must join. If I do not have overseas travel insurance, there is no risk if I get sick, accident or trouble while traveling. This is because even if something happens in the UK, it cannot be dealt with in the same way as in Japan, and there is a possibility of being involved in an unpredictable situation. As an advantage of taking out overseas travel insurance, it is known that people who get involved in accidents or get sick while traveling abroad occur at a frequency of about 3 to 4% of the total. .. It seems that many people think that about 3 to 4 out of 100 people are in trouble. It is higher than the probability that we will have an accident in the country. I have to think that I am not okay and that I may have trouble myself. Overseas travel insurance is necessary just in case.

And I think that the essential thing for traveling is a guidebook. Recently, it has become possible to obtain various information on the Internet because there are convenient things such as smartphones, but after all the information necessary for travel and sightseeing and the exact location are gathered in one book. Books are needed when planning a trip and during the actual trip. It’s also fun to plan your trip while comparing guidebooks with family and friends. A guidebook is essential everywhere I go, as I can display it on a bookshelf and look back at it from time to time even after I go on a trip.

In conclusion, while traveling between Japan and overseas the essential belongings do not change so much, but the distance and environment are completely different between Japan and Britain, so I should be careful not to forget to bring the essential belongings.

When Corona calms down, I want to go on an overseas trip✈️🌎

Thankyou for reading!!❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Self Introduction

Hello! My name is Kotomi Hikita.

I’m from Yokkaichi city in Mie prefecture. I live in the countryside, but the nature is abundant and the people in the town are kind, so it’s very easy to live in. Tonteki and Oyachi Somen are famous in my home town. I like somen very much. This is because it can be eaten as cold somen in summer and warm somen in winter. Somen is a very thin noodle made from Japanese flour. I think it’s healthy and easy to eat.

My favorite food is Korean food. There are many kinds of Korean food, but I especially like kimchi, samgyetang, samgyeopsal, kimchi jjigae, and chijimi. I’m better at spicy foods than sweet foods. Kimchi also has a whitening effect, so I try to eat it for dinner every day. Also, My favorite sport is volleyball. Because I belonged to the volleyball club when I was in the junior high school. I watched the women’s volleyball and men’s volleyball games at this year’s Tokyo Olympics. However, I haven’t actually seen it at the venue, so I would like to see it.

I am a family of five, a mother, a father, an older sister, and a dog. There is two years difference between my older sister and I. I get along with my older sister. In our free time, we watch Korean dramas together, and when my sister is off work, we go shopping. Also, I have a dog. The breed of dog is Toy Poodle. The color of the dog is red. The name is coco. My dog is very energetic and cute. Occasionally, I go to a dog park with my family on weekends. My dog likes to go out.

I like Korea. I especially like food, fashion, Korean drama and K-POP. I have traveled to Korea when I was in junior high school. I haven’t been able to travel to Korea since then. Due to the influence of corona, it is difficult to go now even if I want to go. However, if the current situation settles down, I would like to stay in Korea for about a week. And I want to live in Korea in the future. This is because I want to actually experience and feel Korean culture and traditions, not just because I like Korea. I want to do my best to speak Korean so that my dream will come true.

My hobby is watching Korean TV and YouTube and go shopping. In my spare time, I spend my free time watching Korean dramas and watching K-POP music videos. I also like to go shopping with my friends. Shopping with friends who have a good taste in clothes is fun.

Finally, I wanted to go to study abroad, but I was afraid to go in Corona. However, because of this situation, I can no longer actually go to the country and touch various things, but I feel that I think that the consciousness to investigate and learn by myself will become stronger. In my four years of college life, of course, I want to improve my English, but I also want to learn about cultures of other countries that are different from Japan and do my best so that I can connect to my future dreams.

Nice to meet you.
